Bunash Enterprise and Farms: Driving Innovation, Skills Development, and Youth Empowerment in Ghana’s Agriculture
In Ghana’s evolving agricultural landscape, one name continues to stand out for its commitment to innovation, empowerment, and sustainable transformation — Bunash Enterprise and Farms. As a dynamic agribusiness with a passion for progress, Bunash is proud to be a key private sector partner in the landmark CB VET Ghana Project — a European Union-funded initiative designed to reshape vocational training and enhance employability in Ghana’s agri-sector.

The CB VET Ghana project, officially titled “VET Ecosystems for Employability in Ghana,” is implemented over three years through a powerful coalition of educational institutions, universities, NGOs, and private actors. Its aim? To transform Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET) by connecting learning to labour market needs through an ecosystem approach.
Bunash’s involvement brings the industry voice to the table, helping shape curricula, training approaches, and mentorship systems that ensure ATVET graduates are not just employable — they are future-ready.
By partnering with institutions like Kwadaso Agricultural College and Adidome Farm Institute, Bunash contributes real-world insight and practical exposure to students — aligning education with industry demands and driving innovation at the grassroots level.
Insights from the Ground: The July 2024 Stakeholder Workshop
On July 16, 2024, Bunash co-organized a critical Labour Market Needs Assessment (LMNA) and Stakeholder Validation Workshop at Kwadaso Agricultural College. This workshop brought together a diverse cross-section of Ghana’s agri-sector: government agencies, agribusinesses, farmer groups, academia, and civil society organizations.

The findings were clear and compelling:
· Graduates from ATVET institutions are passionate and technically inclined but often lack soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and ICT proficiency.
· There is limited exposure to climate-smart agriculture, digital tools, and innovative farming techniques — all of which are critical for modern agribusiness.
· Recruitment channels for ATVET graduates are underdeveloped, with no centralized electronic platforms to connect talent with employers.
Bunash’s Contribution: Turning Challenges into Opportunities
With our strong foundation in agricultural production — including fish farming, poultry, livestock, and vegetable cultivation — Bunash is perfectly positioned to influence the next wave of agricultural training and business development.
As part of our commitment, Bunash is:
· Offering mentorship, coaching, and incubation opportunities for ATVET graduates.
· Participating in curriculum design and validation, ensuring training aligns with agro-industry needs.
· Supporting the development of tailor-made short courses that provide hands-on, practical knowledge.
· Facilitating internships and industrial placements to expose students to real work environments.
· Advocating for a digital recruitment platform to streamline graduate hiring and internships.
These efforts are not just about ticking boxes — they are about creating sustainable pathways to employment and entrepreneurship for Ghana’s youth.
Why This Matters for Ghana
The CB VET Ghana project comes at a critical time. Ghana’s youth unemployment is a national concern, while agriculture remains the country’s largest employment sector. However, the sector is changing — becoming more technological, climate-sensitive, and value-chain focused.
To remain relevant and competitive, today’s agricultural workforce must be technologically literate, entrepreneurial, and business-savvy.
This is where Bunash steps in — serving as a bridge between classroom and farm, theory and practice, training and transformation.
